Dr. Lawrence Le is a professor in the Department of Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging and an adjunct professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Department of Physics, and the School of Dentistry, University of Alberta, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.  He is also a Senior Visiting Scholar and an adjunct professor at Fudan University.  He is well known in the field of quantitative bone ultrasonography.  He is currently a board member of the International Bone Ultrasound Society, and a member of American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) and the Canadian Organization of Medical Physicists (COMP).  Dr. Le’s research is focused on medical imaging (particularly in ultrasound imaging), the application of artificial intelligence in medical ultrasound image analysis and device development.  He has more than 200 publications in well-respected international journals such as Journal of Dental Research, Journal of Dentistry, Journal of Crohn’s and Colitis, Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, Chemical Engineering Journal, Computers in Biology and Medicine, ACS Sensors, Medical Image Analysis, IEEE UFFC, Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology and Biomedical Signal Processing and Control.
